Saturdays are made for Stacy’s Siestas

For the first time since we arrived, I was up before Stacy! It was a planned day to sleep in and move about at our leisure. But that notion turned my dear husband into a snail. Nothing happened quickly and every time we came back to the room, he laid down again.  Might be because there is little space in these European size hotel rooms besides the bed.

Once we got out of the hotel, it was time to see some sights.  We did both routes of the City Bus Tour - Historic and New Madrid. The contrast was striking. From buildings and monuments many centuries old to ones just built in my lifetime, it was a true testament that new is not always better. <City highlights>

So many arches - they even have the Golden Arches here (McDonalds :))

You might want to enlarge this one to see that the left side is FAKE!

One of many AMAZING parks in Madrid - this one has sculptures lining the grass pathway
Las Ventas Bullring, completed in 1931 and is the 3rd largest in the world (behind Mexico and Venezuela)

We wish you were all here with us!!!

And when we returned to the hotel, it was time for a quick lunch and a siesta (for Stacy).  For me, it was time to head to the rooftop bar and update the blog for you!

Tonight - the Flamenco Show 💃
